Our philosophy.
At Alexander Farms we focus on effective communication and a healthy partnership between horse and rider. The fundamentals of communication and skills are taught through simple exercises that follow each team from day one to grand prix. We always put the horse’s wellbeing first, with the overarching philosophy of “less-is-more.”
Our history.
In 2018 Kennedy and her husband, Ryan Cooley, bought 58 sloping acres 15 minutes from Moss Landing, filled to the brim with eucalyptus trees and wildflowers. The couple set up literal camp on the property to live on and develop Alexander Farm into the facility you see today. In 2020 Alexander Farms, a then dedicated retirement facility, welcomed in its first equine patrons. In 2021, due to Kennedy’s being well connected and revered among barns and trainers in the area, Alexander Farms found referred training clients knocking at the door. Though offering training at the facility was not on Kennedy’s radar, she saw the local demand and the need for top-rate training and care at an accessible price-point. She welcomed them in and is proud to have developed a complete training and lesson program that provides exactly this.
