Kennedy Alexander

OWNER & HEAD TRAINER

Born and raised down the road in Santa Cruz, CA, Kennedy Alexander first found herself in the saddle at 4 years old. Her western and gymkhana beginnings quickly transitioned to show jumping at the age of 7, and she began showing in the hunter ring a year later. Kennedy swept up championships all the way through highschool before heading to Texas ANM to study Veterinary Science. In 2015 she accepted an offer to ride professionally back at home, and has continued to do so ever since.

Kennedy has competed nationally and internationally, and worked for several barns in the area, gathering essential wisdom from each one.

In 2018 Kennedy and her husband, Ryan Cooley, bought 58 sloping acres full of eucalyptus trees, wildflowers and deer. The couple developed the land into a retirement facility, but in 2021 Alexander Farm found training clients knocking at the door. Responding to the demand, Kennedy has since developed a complete training and lesson program that provides the quality of care, training and philosophy needed for horses and riders of all levels to thrive, at a price point that makes the sport more accessible.

Looking to the future, Kennedy looks to further develop her own competitive riding career and continue to improve Alexander Farms’ ability to care for and develop its riders and horses.
